Scotland’s prisons are overcrowded, they need reform and they need funding. The public deserve confidence in Scotland’s prisons and the wider criminal justice system. Rehabilitation must be provided so prisoners get the support they need. Overcrowding must be addressed in a way that supports the public and restores confidence in the system.
